Stave Core Door Stiles

Faces:
All face materials are resawn
and sanded to dimension
prior to laminating. Thickness
of face material is usually
.150" but can be varied to
individual needs. Most wood
species can be utilized,
however please contact us for
further information. Some
woods simply do not lend
themselves to door
construction or are not
available in raw form suitable
for face material. Aagesen
Millworks can and will apply
customer supplied faces as
long as the
y meet the
parameters of our production
methods.
The Core:
Aagesen Millworks can produce door
core in a multitude of sizes, thickness
and species. The standard core product
is western pine
, utilizing clear blanks
and finger jointed. We also produce
Alder core and a limited amount of
Douglas
Fir.  All staves are then
moulded on our Weinig Hydromat
moulder for precise machining prior to
laying up to width. We do not butt joint
inferior products that are chopped from
material surfaced at the mill and allowed
to have large voids.
Edges:
Edges can be applied to the core and are
typically at 7/8" in thickness but can be
produced as specified. If your production
uses deeper sticking profiles
, thicker edges
can be applied. Once again all edges are
precision machined prior to gluing for
optimum adhesion.
